Worn walls and flood damage across the block, then the same building after renovation. The plaque on the gable was fitted when the work was handed over.
Residents depended on distant wells, rivers and streams shared with livestock, exposing the community to waterborne disease. Women and children spent long hours fetching water, which affected their health and took time away from school and productive work.
AHVF worked with local experts to survey the site, drill and case the borehole, then install a pump system and storage tank. Residents were trained to operate and maintain it, and the foundation continues to run periodic water quality checks.
