Statement on the Jilli market airstrike

The foundation strongly condemned the airstrike reportedly carried out at Jilli market along the Borno and Yobe border, which led to the loss of many innocent civilian lives. While acknowledging the ongoing fight against insurgency, it emphasised that the protection of civilians must remain a top priority, committed to supporting victims in hospital, and called for a transparent investigation.

Standing with Sudan

With partner YAPD4Africa, the foundation responded to the humanitarian crisis in Al-Fashir, North Darfur, where families were surviving on toxic animal feed and thousands of children had died of hunger and disease. The two organisations coordinated the Nigeria to Sudan Relief Mission to send food, medical aid and other essentials.

On the passing of President Muhammadu Buhari

The foundation mourned the former President, noting his legacy in shaping conversations around governance, leadership and public accountability, and joined Nigerians in prayers for his repose.

The 18,000 Nigerians living in Chad

Nigerian refugees have lived in Chad for over a decade, displaced by violence and instability. Many face food insecurity, and women and girls are exposed to exploitation. Repatriation efforts led by the Borno State Government have left thousands still stranded and uncertain of their future.
