What a number on this page means.
One person, counted once per programme
A child who receives schooling and also attends a medical outreach appears in both programme figures. The headline total is not the sum of the programme lines.
Direct reach, not audience
Impact figures count people who received something: water, treatment, teaching, cash, shelter. Campaign reach is reported separately and never folded into the total.
Water points count households
Borehole figures estimate the population served by the water point, based on the community it was drilled for, rather than counting individual collections.
Everything is dated
Every figure states the year it covers and the report it came from. Figures for a year in progress are marked provisional until that year of report publishes.
